Ripley welcomes new permanent Managing Director - Richard Osborn

Ripley Engineering is delighted to formally announce the appointment of its new permanent Managing Director, Richard Osborn.

Richard has a very strong background in the engineering industry. Starting as a precision sheet metal work apprentice, he moved on to study production management at Cranfield University. He then embarked upon an operational and sales role for a ‘Tier 2’ Ford Motors supplier in Detroit, USA.
Since his return to the UK after several years, Richard has enjoyed a successful career managing family owned manufacturing businesses. His knowledge of manufacturing processes, sales and marketing skills, and commercial acumen has enabled Richard to build up a proven track record in helping companies reach their full potential. He has in fact been with Ripley for several months already, and we are excited about the fresh ideas and enthusiasm he has brought to the company.

Richard would like to extend a warm invitation to our valued customers, and prospective clients to discuss any ongoing and upcoming requirements.

Happy and Healthy Retirement, Brian

Works Manager for Ripley Engineering since 1986, Brian Beswick has retired having loyally served the company for nearly 25 years.

Brian is regarded with a great deal of affection and respect by his friends and colleagues here at Ripley and by our long-standing customers and suppliers.

He is notable for his down-to-earth approach to all things, his unfailing sense of humour and also his near-pathological fear and mistrust of computers (which he is currently in the process of overcoming!!). Brian often claims to be a football fan, yet keenly follows Man Utd. Nobody’s perfect, so we’ll let that one go!

Everyone at Ripley Engineering would like to thank Brian for his inestimable contribution towards the success of the company. "Our sincere wishes for a very long, happy and healthy retirement".

Rose Thwarts Martian Invasion – Single Handed!

Ripley Surface Coating Technology team member Rose keeps a firm grip on the ‘leader’ of a swarm of ‘flying saucers’ seemingly determined to take over the factory!
These are in fact powder painted parts that make up cup-handling assemblies, which in turn are part of drinks vending machines.

Luckily, Rose didn’t have to run too quickly to catch up with the menacing hoarde – they were suspended from the paint plant conveyor track moving at less than 2 metres every minute!
